Estonian manors
Mäxhof in Kirchspiel Wenden, Kreis Dorpat

The manor house first mentioned in 1555 was first owned by the Meksis and later by Schübters, von Löwensterns and von Essens. The two-storey Baroque main building constructed around 1800, got a historicist annex at the end of the 19th century. The building is now in private possession and under renovation. Five hundred meters away, there is the Neo-Gothic cemetery chapel of the von Essen family.

By the historical distribution the manor was in Võnnu Parish in Tartumaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Mäksa Municipality in Tartumaa County.
